Are We In For a Sizzling Summer In Real Estate?

Lower interest rates combined with rising home prices could be a win-win for both Santa Clarita home buyers and sellers.

2014 so far has been a pretty good year for real estate here in Santa Clarita. While prices haven’t gone up quite as much as they did last year, we’re still seeing steady gains month over month, Sizzling Santa Clarita real estate marketwith median sales prices (Including single family homes and condominiums) reaching $402,500 in April. Median sales prices reached $384,900 in March.

We need homes to sell!

We have about twice the number of homes available for sale this year compared to 2013, but we’re still short at just over 700 homes available for buyers in the SCV. This is only about a two month supply, and far short of our average of 1200-1800 homes we’d like to see for a balanced market.

Homeowners, pay attention! Home prices are up. Inventory is low, and so are interest rates. We have buyers lined up waiting for a house just like yours. Right now, you won’t have so much competition from other sellers since inventory is so tight, but you WILL have competition for your property from buyers.
